Thought of the Day Quoted from daily reflection's of Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji Maharaj
A HOLIDAY OR A PILGRIMAGE
People go on vacation hoping to relax and enjoy themselves. They indulge in mountain climbing, skiing or hiking, and end up being more exhausted then when they started.
In India, people take time to go on pilgrimages to visit holy shrines. A trip to a place like Kedarnath, in the high Himalayas, involves a lot of climbing but at the end pilgrim is rewarded with the sight of a temple and the holy vibrations of a sacred place.
So, call it a holiday or a pilgrimage, the process is the same. The results, however, is entirely different.
While tourists return home tried, with only the memory of an instant thrill that will quickly fade away, pilgrim's come home with rejuvenated strength, a peaceful mind and the satisfaction of having reached their goal.
